Poor Em. As a die-hard Eminem fan, it sucks to see that a song that he actually put work and effort into making and didn't have SOMEONE ELSE write his lyrics for him was snubbed of winning an award, especially a Grammy award. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there were other good contending songs for the Best Rap Song award at this year's Grammy's, but the fact that the award went to a certain someone who could be (there's proof of this by the way) a borderline-child sex abuser (cough cough Drake) and who allegedly has a ghost writer instead of a talented lyricist like Em is not only incredibly ignorant and offensive but just ridiculous.

I mean cmon, Eminem has already lyrically jumped Drake (multiple times). How can this man be better than the Rap God?

To be fair, "Lucky You" did get the honor of being labeled a nominee for the Grammy's Best Rap Song award this year (Which is pretty ironic considering the song bashes Grammy's, but still it should've won, and I'll explain why). But compared to songs like God's Plan and Sicko Mode, it should've been more than just a nominee.

God's Plan is barely even a hip hop song. It's more of a pop song and re-incarnation of Marvin's Room (which was a good song but you can't just plagiarize your own work). And while the song did take the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Digital Song Sales for six weeks around March last year, it sold the lowest amount of sales for a No. 1 ranked song since 2005. Lucky You latched on to Billboard's No 1. Spot for streaming songs this year (It had 42.2 million streams in just 1-2 weeks at the beginning of September 2018), but that wasn't the only song ranked within the top 10 on Billboards "streaming songs" list. According to Billboard, "In total, four songs from Kamikaze debut in the top 10 of Streaming Songs, with “Lucky” followed by “The Ringer” (No. 5, 31.7 million), “Fall” (No. 7, 31.8 million) and the title track (No. 8, 26.2 million). Notably, “Ringer” leads “Fall” despite more streams for the latter due to weighting changes on the chart that value paid streams over ad-supported; a portion of “Fall’s” data comes from a YouTube video released Sept. 4."

God's Plan did get a lot of streams during 2017-18 (Around 80 Million, bu it took him one year, while Lucky you was streamed half as many times in just a couple weeks), but it only got certified silver ONCE by BPI. Lucky You was certified Gold by ARIA and RMNZ, and sold around 50K shipments/sales total in New Zealand and Australia. It was certified silver by the BPI and sold around 200k Shipments/sales in the U.K It was certified Platinum by Music Canada and RIAA and sold 1.2 MILLION total sales/shipments in the U.S and Canada.

God's Plan did get certified platinum in the U.S. But we ALL KNOW he has a ghost writer and at least Eminem can write his own lyrics. If he didn't have a ghost writer, none of these rumors would be circulating. Also again, how we gonna let Drake, who's been exposed for *cough cough* being....intimate around minors MULTIPLE times win a Grammy?

It's simple. Lucky You should've won the Grammy award for best rap song of the year. And Drake can't compare with Eminem. -Nick Legue
